Again, this morning, Murtle and I went for an early morning walk. (Brad is not as early a riser as Murtle and I are, and if we go for a walk, he gets to sleep for another half hour.) On our walk this morning Murtle met some new friends.
Soon after our walk we had breakfast, packed the camper, and got headed West, (boy, that sounds familiar...guess it will for a few more days!) We were on the road again by a little after 9:00AM Central time. Guess we passed the time zone when we hit Indiana.
This is one of Murtle's friends that she met the other day. Murtle was very timid and didn't want her picture taken with him. Must have been the eyes. There were some other characters that were around, but this was the cutest one of all.
When we took off we headed West on 74 toward Moline. Once we got around the "city" we decided that we had had enough of interstates and broke off on route 151 North to 6 then 212 to 30. (That's in Iowa, by the way.) I think I have that right.
Murtle was going to join the band, but didn't bring her instrument. She tapped her toes and slapped her knees to the beat. haha
We saw more corn and more soybeans today. Lots more. There was a sign by one of the fields that said it was for biodiesel. I think we saw enough corn to fuel my car for a year.
We landed at Colo at a nice little campground. I'll let you know how we are in the morning after the chickens wake us up. (Yes, there are chickens here. Hey, maybe Murtle can have her picture taken with a chicken.)
