Biggest Wedding Day of the Year!

July 6, 2007 (7:52PM)

Even though we have internet service here at Twin Anchors, in Colo, IA, it seems to go in and out. I tried to upload three pictures, but only two appeared on the blog. I will have to try again when we have better service.

Today was very hot. The truck thermometer said only 86, but it seemed a lot hotter than that. We went for a walk after we got set up and visited the camper sales office next door. When we win the Mega Millions game tonight we will be finishing our trip in a brand new camper. (haha) No just kidding. We did take a chance at the lottery in West Virginia, but did not win. Now we have one from Illinois, it is drawn tonight.

This campground has a family reunion being held here. There are about 35 of them. They had a volley ball game just outside of our campsite earlier. Then when we went down to the beach, they had a dunking booth. That’s one way to get at a relative that you might not like. Dunk ‘em!
So far Murtle has stayed in the air conditioned camper. She does not like it when it’s hot. She lays on her back and puts her feet up in the air. She didn’t even want to go to the beach with us this afternoon. Maybe I can convince her to go for a walk with me in the early morning tomorrow. There aren’t as many interesting things around here for her to investigate.

Tomorrow we head West again, then due north for the Badlands. I don’t think we will make it by tomorrow. We still should have about 550 miles to go to get there. That’s a two day drive for us. The drive should be quite easy, but of course, I have never been there, so I really don’t know.

Brad gets really tired of driving. I think he is looking forward to staying in one place for a few days. That is the plan when we get to the Badlands. We will probably stay in the area for 3 days. Lots to see. I have been told that we need to visit the Wind Caves. Heard it will blow your hat off! The Jewel Cave is another place I think we will visit. I do want to see Mount Rushmore, also. Hopefully I’ll have plenty of pictures for here to share.

Brad is already asleep, and I don’t think that he has made the change over to the new time yet. We are in Central time now. An hour earlier than you are. So remember if you are going to call us at 7:00AM your time, it will be 6:00AM our time! And soon we change again to Mountain time, then Pacific time which is three hours different.

Well, Murtle and I will be up early our time, to take a walk.

(Sorry the dates are not quite right! Today is 7/7/7, and it is 3:45PM just uploading, what I wrote last night. will add pictures tonight. Right now we just set up camp and am going out for a bite to eat. It is 97 degrees here right now. More later with pictures.)
